Building a Legacy

Charlie Kuchenbrod

Charlie Kuchenbrod, Church Legacy Specialist, writes:

There are parallels between how a clinician might assess the overall health and life expectancy of a person and how someone might assess a congregation.  You would start by looking for serious diseases.  For people, there are dread diagnoses.  For a congregation, the equivalent might be the complete loss of financial viability or the complete loss of spiritual vitality, either of which could signal that the congregation is rapidly approaching the completion of its ministry.

But if you don’t see an immediate threat, then you might look for the kind of chronic diseases that left unmanaged could shorten a lifespan.

Hiring a New Employee?

Irma Reyes

Irma Reyes, Director for Human Resources and Staff Engagement, writes:

It is our job as HR professionals, Hiring Managers, or Leadership to identify what are those unique skills and talents the employees possess, early on, as it is one way we as employers can help ensure we support the overall success of the employee in the workplace.
