Juneteenth Observed Today

Juneteenth

Southern New England Conference offices are closed today (June 19) in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Juneteenth commemorates an effective end of slavery in the United States by marking the day, in 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to take control of the state and ensure enslaved people were freed. It came 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Treasurer's Report to the 2024
Annual Meeting

CTL New Staff

In preparation for this weekend's 5th Annual Meeting, Treasurer Calvin Price released his annual report. In it, he writes in part:

Like the financial teams in your local congregations, we seek to be faithful stewards of shared resources to support a common Vision.  And like you, we wrestle with financial choices and challenges in the wider context of God’s abundant grace.

That grace shows in the big picture of our financial results for 2023. The Conference received income of nearly $7.8 million from all sources. This represented over 97% of what had been budgeted, supporting a vibrant collective ministry touching countless lives throughout southern New England and beyond.
