Again, O Lord? The Pain of Gun Violence Against Children

Noah Brewer-Wallin, Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, writes:

Again, O Lord? Again, are we suffering the consequences of loving the freedom to own guns more than the freedom for children to go to school without being killed?

It is horrifying to see the photos of young children being evacuated from their classrooms. It is horrifying to read the names of the three nine-year-olds who were killed. Have mercy on us, O God. Transform us and our nation so that this violence ends.

The pain of this violence calls us to act. Learn more about what gun violence prevention organizations in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts are doing, and join in their action.

New Events Newsletter Added to Offerings

Tiffany Vail, Director of Media & Communications, writes:

How to adequately get the word out about Conference programming has always been a challenge. Your Conference staff spends countless hours developing events - webinars, workshops, trainings and gatherings - designed to equip church leaders to effectively carry out their ministries. Add to that the events that our covenant partners offer, and the list of opportunities becomes very, very long. We include a sampling of the events in this 5 Things to Know & Share Newsletter, and in other newsletters, but we know not everyone who could benefit from these opportunities is hearing about them.

In an attempt to address this, the Conference is launching a new email newsletter strictly focused on listing upcoming events sponsored by the Conference and our partner organizations.
