VIRTUAL ECUMENICAL ADVOCACY DAYS
TAKING PLACE APRIL 25-27, 2023

Ecumenical Advocacy Days is a movement of the ecumenical Christian community, and its recognized partners and allies, grounded in biblical witness and our shared traditions of justice, peace and the integrity of creation. Our goal, through worship, theological reflection and opportunities for learning and witness, is to strengthen our Christian voice and to mobilize for advocacy on a wide variety of U.S. domestic and international policy issues.

Environmental Justice Youth Retreat

Saturday, May 6th, 2023
9:00am to 4:00pm

Nature & Neighbors is a day-long environmental justice retreat for youth, which will include exploration of environmental racism and environmental justice; engaging scripture and spiritual practices that inspire and sustain action; and experiencing God’s Creation firsthand at Silver Lake Camps & Retreats, one of the beautiful outdoor ministry sites affiliated with the Southern New England Conference.

Middle and high school groups of any size, or individual youth with an accompanying adult, are welcome to sign up. Program cost is $75 per participant – please contact Emma Brewer-Wallin (brewer-walline@sneucc.org) for sliding scale rates. We want you to participate and cost should not be a barrier!

Summer Opportunities

Youth @ Synod

Friday, June 30th, 2023
to July 5th, 2023

Teens from all over the country will participate in worship, attend plenary sessions and hearings, and observe the resolution process in action. Youth @ Synod is a wonderful opportunity to engage in justice issues and nurture advocacy skills.  

The Southern New England Conference is sponsoring a trip to Youth @ Synod for young leaders ages 14 to 18 who want to connect with other teens and experience the vibrant diversity of the wider church.

In addition, the Faith Formation Team has set aside funds to support youth of color who wish to attend camp. For those interest, select the program you wish to attend and then begin your registration; during application, scholarship registration can be made in the application's Document Center.


Incredible Faith Mission: Boston

Four Sessions (July and August 2023)
Open to youth and intergenerational groups age 14+

Incredible Faith Mission: Boston, facilitated by SNEUCC covenanted partner Incredible Days, will be filled with folks eager to experience a week of mission work in Boston. Participants will stay at the comfortable and accommodating Edwards House, commute into Greater Boston to do daily service projects focused on addressing urban poverty alongside partner organizations, and engage in cultural immersion. Participants will get the chance to both see and learn what poverty in Boston looks like today, and what can be done to help.

NEW! Youth Retreat:
Sabbath in a Modern Age

Friday, November 10th, 2023 to Sunday, November 12th, 2023
Craigville Retreat Center - Centerville, MA
$195 per person

Facilitated by Rev. Matt Carriker and Rev. Sarah Buteux, this two-day retreat is intended for teens from the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ. Whether you have come to SNEUCC retreats before, or have never been on retreat, come to find nourishment for your soul. All youth grades 7-12 and their group leaders are welcome!

Come to worship, to sing, build community, and to reflect on the meaning of Sabbath in our busy, modern, technological world. This will be sacred time in community, to make your heart sing and begin practicing Sabbath together!

 Do you work with youth? Looking to start an OWL program for faith and sexuality education? Start by reading this article with resources and tips from Rev. Amy Johnson, the UCC's Minister for Faith and Sexuality. Afterward, check out the following events:


Are you a youth or young adult (age 14-29)? Do you love to write or create?

We want to hear your thoughts on discipleship and faith and we want to share your wisdom with the Southern New England Conference. Reflect on a recent experience and how it relates to your faith and send us a draft. You can respond to a current event or comment on a poignant experience and relate it to a passage of scripture. Published items will receive a stipend of $50.
