Silver Lake Award Nominations Are Open!

The Silver Lake Award recognizes someone whose life has been visibly shaped by the core values of Silver Lake Camp & Retreat Center and who, in turn, live their life and faith in a way that reflects the formative experiences they have had at Silver Lake.

This person truly takes Silver Lake home with them beyond Low Road.

If you nominated someone in a previous year, you are welcomed and encouraged to nominate them again. Complete the nomination form

News From the Conference

Rev. Chris Davies Called as Executive Minister for Programs and Initiatives

"'As one who grew up in the historic Connecticut conference, having been baptized and ordained by the same local pastor in Connecticut, and came to ministry via the Silver Lake Conference Center, this feels like I’m coming home,” said Davies. “I left the area to join the national setting and do similar work, but this position gives me the opportunity to really get closer to local congregations and closer to the way faith moves in the world, in 2022 and beyond.'" Youth Environmental Justice Retreats

Climate change and environmental injustice weigh heavily on young people's hearts -- and these retreats are a response to those concerns, encouraging youth to take action for environmental justice that is grounded in their faith. As you know, spending time in God's Creation (like at Silver Lake!) is a key way young people experience the love of God that inspires them to care for our neighbors and Creation.

There are four offerings of this day-long retreat to choose from:

  • October 8, 2022 at Silver Lake
  • October 22, 2022 at Irons Homestead
  • February 18, 2023 at Irons Homestead (snow date – March 25)
  • May 6, 2023 at Silver Lake

We welcome youth groups to sign up, as well as individual youth/families with an adult. There are discounts available for groups of 6 or more, as well as individual scholarships -- please contact Emma Brewer-Wallin for details. Middle and high school youth are welcome to attend. Register here.
