Learn as we lead, walk as we talk, teach as we fight.

The Kairos Center, one of the anchor organizations of the Poor People's Campaign, says: Learn as we lead, walk as we talk, teach as we fight.

In the work of justice, it can often feel dizzying to know which is more important -- learning about issues and solutions, or taking action?

The answer this phrase suggests is one that is often right: both.

Today's newsletter is full of opportunities to help us learn as we lead, remembering that the two are always deeply intertwined:

  • Jubilee
  • Racial Justice Summit
  • Environmental Ministries Cross-Pollination Gathering - 9/19 focused on Faith Matters Voting Challenge
  • Video resources to help your congregation engage with the Faith Matters Voting Challenge
  • Youth Environmental Justice Retreats - register now for October sessions!
  • Oodles more from our partners!

Please be in touch! I want to hear from you. - Emma

Applications due 9/16: Jubilee Justice Leadership Program - Apply today!

Jubilee is a 6-month online cohort, especially for lay leaders, who are looking to connect their faith with social justice. The program combines workshops about progressive Christianity and justice, skill-building for justice work, and spiritual reflection, with work directly in a local justice organization and their local church. Please be in touch with me to inquire about scholarships.

Online spots open for Racial Justice Summit, 9/24 - In person registration has closed, but you can still attend online for this day full of worship, plenary conversation, and workshops centered on racial justice. Online workshops focus on the work of all-white congregations and constructive dialogue around race and justice. Email Karen Methot to register.

Environmental Ministries Cross-Pollination Gathering - Monday, 9/19 6:30pm on Zoom, and recurring third Mondays. This is a chance for green team members to exchange ideas and resources and hear others’ ideas as you work through challenges. September's focus will be on the Faith Matters Voting Challenge. Be sure to register to receive the zoom link.
