#UCCSynod is Underway

The "Special Edition" virtual General Synod - the biennial meeting of the United Church of Christ - is underway this week.

It is still possible to register to take workshops, observe plenary sessions and take part in various optional events. Find out more here: www.generalsynod.org

Resolution on Contemplative Approach to Christian Activism Passes

At the opening plenary session of the United Church of Christ’s first online General Synod, delegates overwhelmingly approved a resolution calling the wider church to base its activism on a “life of foundational spiritual practices.” 

The resolution's authors are from the Southern New England Conference, and eight of the 13 sponsoring churches are in the SNEUCC.

Prescription drug and medical bills stretching a budget based on a skimpy pension and Medicaid to the breaking point, with major dental work on the horizon.
