Survey Deadline Tomorrow

Bridge Conference Minister the Rev. Don Remick writes: Our Conference staff is looking at what will be most helpful to our churches and ministries as we continue with the Covid-19 pandemic this fall.  And part of our listening to clergy and lay leaders tells that that many folks are curious to know what other churches are doing.

Please make sure one clergy person from your church fills out this survey by tomorrow - Oct. 15th. We’ll use this information to help shape our ongoing resourcing and support of clergy and ministries.  We’ll also share the statistics with you to give us all a sense of the variety of creativity and adaptations happening within our Conference.

What To Do with the 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower Landing

Debbie Gline Allen,  Associate for Faith Formation & Youth Ministries, writes:  What do we do with the parts of our history that include colonialism and slavery? Is it even possible to offer reparations or find ways to turn back what was considered progress, but diminished the rights of non-white people?

Listening to Peggy Bendroth talk about history — the fact that we can’t change history, but we can learn from it — caused me to realize that we have an opportunity and an obligation here after 400 years.
