Phasing Forward into the Fall

When the pandemic first began your Bridge Conference ministers recommended the suspension of In Person inside worship for two weeks.  As the COVID-19 pandemic spread, that went from two weeks to two months to spring and then to summer.  At this point, five months into the pandemic and part way through the summer season, we are seeing a resurgence of the spread of COVID across the country.  New hot spots are developing and new milestones are happening.  While the spread is more contained and controlled within our region it is difficult to predict trends over the next few weeks and months. Updating Central MA Association By-Laws

Periodically the Association must review and update its By-Laws in order to comply with evolving changes in practice and as part of our covenant with the Conference and wider church. At this time the Board of Directors is bringing to your attention, four necessary changes for your consideration and approval, to be voted on at the upcoming annual meeting in September.  Those changes are as follows:  1) Name changes related to the "new" conference and Association designation, 2) Correction as to the actual 3 year term for members of the Board of Directors, 3) Compliance with the "Unified Fitness Review Process" which was previously adopted by the Association, and 4) Elimination of the use of the term "Sectors" which had created geographic divisions within the Association, but which have not been in practical use for a number of years.

In order to provide an opportunity for delegates to review and discuss these changes, there will be two virtual Zoom meetings with representatives of the Board to answer any questions and address any concerns.  Those meetings will take place on Monday July 20 and Monday August 10, at 6:30 PM.  Please click on one of the registration links below.

Proportional Giving (PG) Webinar

To: Church Treasurers and Financial Secretaries; Finance, Stewardship, and Mission Committees
Proportional Giving(PG) is the new way of funding our common mission through the Southern New England Conference that is faithful, covenantal, aligned with our Conference’s mission and core commitments, and based on an understanding of generosity rooted in scripture. PG has replaced OCWM and Fellowship Dues; UCM; and Per Capita Contributions, as the new way we ask churches to give.

Please join us for this informational webinar for more clarity. Bring your questions!

Proportional Giving is new in 2020!

In 2020 the Association will only be sending pledge invoices to our churches for the Association portion of Fellowship Dues, which are currently $1.65 per member.

The Association will no longer be collecting and forwarding any portion of Conference support. This change also effects any church that was part of United Church Mission. UCM churches will be sent a pledge invoice for the amount that had been received from the Conference while part of UCM.
