Boundary Awareness During Unprecedented Times
an Online Continuing Education Opportunity
with Revs. Reebee Kavich Girash and Gregory Morisse
Tuesday, July 14, 2020
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Boundary Awareness Facilitators from the historic MA conference have developed BAT 2.0 materials reviewing the Foundations of pastoral boundaries and considering specialized topics. While we cannot offer these sessions in person right now, we have been in conversation about what pastoral boundaries during the current pandemic. We are offering a three part training:
1) a pre-recorded Foundations video
2) an article that reviews those Foundations
3) live and interactive Zoom session to discuss pastoral boundaries during COVID-19
These materials are ideally suited to pastors who have already completed Boundary Awareness Training 101 in the past five years in the historic MA conference but others are welcome. This should not be considered a substitute for BAT 101, but may be a first step for those delayed in completing 101 by CoVid19.

SNEUCC Gives $10,000 to the One Church Fund
Southern New England Conference donated $10,000 to the One Church Fund of the Massachusetts Council of Churches. One of the important ministries of our One Church is being done by small, immigrant, Black, poor and / or unaffiliated churches in Massachusetts. These small churches make a big difference in their communities but in this time of pandemic, they often do not have the resources to continue in ministry while not meeting in person on Sundays. In addition, they often were not able to participate in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) due to not having a pre-existing relationship with one of the banks processing those government loans.
Since we believe all parts of the body of Christ are necessary and at this terrible moment when so many people are suffering because of COVID19 and systemic racism, some parts of the body of Christ are suffering more than others. As members of the one body of Christ, we cannot say to one another, “I have no need of you.” Through the One Church Fund, the Massachusetts Council of Churches prioritizes the financial, practical, and relational support of immigrant, Black, poor, unhoused, and unaffiliated churches.
We in the Southern New England Conference have stepped up to the challenge. Now is the time for those UCC churches in Massachusetts who are well resourced to give to this fund as well. Through your contribution, you will be building capacity to care for all of God’s people. Give generously here https://www.onechurchfund.org/ and be a part of ensuring that the whole body of Christ survives.
