Executive Minister for Strategic Operations Transitioning from Conference

The Rev. Dr. Audrey Price, who has served as the first Executive Minister for Strategic Operations of the Southern New England Conference for the past 18 months, is leaving the staff to accept a new position at a global nonprofit.

Dr. Price will become the Associate Director of the Religion & Society Program at the Washington DC-based Aspen Institute. This is a newly created position in a fast-growing program. Her final day on the SNEUCC staff will be Aug. 31. A celebration (location to be determined) will be held Aug. 26.

A few months back, I went on the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website to look for the countries that have the lowest covid rates. One country seemed to speak to me through cyber space to come visit. The Gambia. It is the smallest country in Africa. To me, it felt like both The Gambia and God were calling me to visit there. I could not resist their beckoning.

New Suicide Prevention Hotline: 988

The new three-digit dialing code – 988 – to route callers to the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) went live on July 16, 2022. Callers can use 988 or the current 800 number (1-800-273-8255) to access services.
